Me & My Budgie

Beau
My name is Jamila and I am nearly 7 years old. My budgie's name is Beau and he is blue and has a white face. I got him from the boys at Gilbert Street in Darwin for Christmas. One day when Mum put Beau on the balcony she left the door open and he flew away. We looked for him all night and the next morning but we did not find him. When Mum got home at lunch time our neighbour Hannah came to the laundry with her laundry basket and Mum thought that she was going to do the laundry; but Hannah asked Mum "Is this your budgie?" and there in the laundry basket was our Beau!!! Hannah told Mum that the boy next door found him in their yard and brought him over and asked Hannah if the bird was hers and Hannah said "No but I know someone who might own it - I think it belongs to my friends." When I got home from school Mum said I have a surprise for you. I knew that it was Beau!!! He is still with us today.
